British artist Su
Blackwell creates paper sculptures out of books that are absolutely stunning.
Based on fairytales and classic stories, they frequently portray a dangerous setting with a young heroine in its midst. The details are amazing from numerous tiny leaves that populate
a tree to a perfect little umbrella hanging off a branch. And most are illuminated with a light that serves to enhance the atmosphere.
Blackwell's work has appeared in ads for companies such as the Fairmont Hotels and British Airways and in a variety of publications including Time Out London and Harper's Bazaar. She's also illustrated a book, The Fairy-Tail Princess: Seven Classic Stories from the Enchanted Forest, which I plan on purchasing asap. I just can't get enough.
