In Living Colour

A Kodak Kodachrome film test from 1922 (discovered on the blog Behind the Curtain). Check out Mae Murray, the girl with the bee-stung lips, at the end. The women are absolutely beautiful and yet it's so strange to see them in colour.

Just Breathe

Of all the things I had planned to do over Labour Day Weekend, spending the time in hospital was not one of them. But that’s what happened after I collapsed and was rushed to the ER where it was discovered that I was suffering from pulmonary embolisms. It was made clear to me by all the doctors that I came very close to dying, and I realize that I am one very lucky girl. The whole experience has left me a bit weak and made me look at things in a new light. I don’t have any grand words of wisdom on the meaning of life but what I do know is that I’m going to try and enjoy every day of mine.

So now I am home, resting and working on my breathing. That simple act—breathe in, breathe out, repeat—has become one of the most beautiful things in the world to me and something I will never take for granted again.
